Rola Bayram is a highly accomplished individual, holding a master’s degree in education with a specialization in Mathematics from the prestigious Lebanese American University.
Currently serving as the Math Specialist under the QITABI 2 program at World Learning in Beirut since 2019, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role.
Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Rola has been instrumental in developing and translating math content/material in three languages, catering to students across the spectrum from early years to secondary level math. With a remarkable teaching career spanning over 30 years, she has made significant contributions to both private and public schools, at the university and school levels, spanning from intermediate to secondary school. Additionally, Rola has held the pivotal role of coordinator for grades KG to secondary school in both English and French sections.
Her extensive experience extends beyond the classroom, where she has actively participated in aligning math curricula in private schools. Rola’s impact extends to training and mentoring, having successfully guided over 300 teachers and administrators. Her approach is grounded in a holistic perspective and a balanced approach to math teaching and learning.
Under the QITABI 2 program, Rola has played a pivotal role in integrating Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into the math curriculum. Recognizing the importance of students’ social and emotional development as integral components of the learning process, she has championed a comprehensive approach to education.
In the realm of consultancy, both locally and regionally, Rola focuses on topics such as dyscalculia, emphasizing teaching strategies and interventions for students facing mathematical difficulties. Beyond her professional commitments, she dedicates her spare time to attending global workshops, nurturing her passion for continuous learning. This dedication extends to mentoring teachers and students, inspiring them to engage with math meaningfully and joyfully. Rola’s multifaceted contributions underscore her commitment to educational excellence and the holistic development of both educators and learners alike.

Proven expertise since 2013, in the field of education programs monitoring and evaluation, implementing MEL systems, designing, and implementing impact evaluation studies, and producing program reports.
Co-led on studies and evaluations within QITABI, QITABI 2, and SBP projects including quantitative and qualitative data analysis on students’ and teachers’ performance.
Educational background consists of a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, followed by a Teaching Diploma in Education, and a Diploma in Digital Education in addition to an MBA in CSR and NGOs management. Fluent in Arabic, & English, and independent user in German.
Mirvat Merhi is a monitoring and evaluation specialist working in monitoring and evaluation of education programs since 2011. Merhi holds a Master’s degree in population studies from the American University of Beirut since 2002. Over the past 24 years, she was involved in development of data collection tools and conducting research in the health, social, population and educational fields. She co-authored several publications in the health and development sectors and presented education papers and posters in education conferences.
Mirvat has experience in Program monitoring and evaluation; MEL plans; household surveys; conducting focus groups and interviews and running data analysis in the fields of education; women work and health; reproductive health and morbidity; nurse retention.
Dr. Melissa Whatley is assistant professor of international and global education at SIT Graduate Institute. Her research applies quantitative and mixed-methods approaches to improve our understanding of policies and practices that impact access and equity in U.S. international education, particularly in the community college context. She teaches courses on quantitative research methods, theoretical foundations of comparative and international education, and program planning and design in SIT’s master’s and doctoral programs in international and global education. She is author of An Introduction to Quantitative Analysis for International Educators, recently published with Springer. Her research has been featured in journals such as the Journal of Higher Education, Research in Higher Education, the Journal of Studies in International Education, and Higher Education. She is associate editor for the Journal of International Students and Research and recent recipient of NAFSA: Association of International Educators’ Innovative Research in International Education award.
Alex Levy has over 10 years of experience helping communities engage in meaningful ways to solve local challenges. She currently leads World Learning’s Civic Engagement, Action, and Leadership practice. Programs span across Asia and the Middle East, and equip emerging leaders to positively influence their communities, stand up for their fundamental rights, advocate for others, and hold their government accountable through locally designed and led solutions. Previously at FHI 360, she provided technical support to civic engagement and social accountability programs across Asia, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Alex was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia and holds a master’s degree in Middle East studies and conflict resolution.
